Code..well at least they will be helping with the food..its a good move on the UN's part because if shit goes bad they can still look good..if things go great they can say they were part of it...typical UN playing both sides to the middle.
My answer personally is no, if its going to really help those people yes, but with the UN it is always motivated for the wrong reasons.

The UN is screwed up because it was designed screwed up. Five countires control the whole thing and everybody else just has to watch.

I support multilateralism, but the UN needs HUGE reform at least. Maybe even a fresh start with a new organization, structure and name. United Nations somwhow doesn't seem appropriate. Maybe a senate with rep by pop.

The UN, much like the League of Nations, is little more than a debating society. I see it as little more than another anti-American tool for the dictators of the world.
I hope it dies a fast and ignonomous death.

It could be more. The problem in a nutshell is politicians. All politicians. Everywhere and of every stripe. Politics is all about dividing people, instead of bringing them together. They also all tend to be power-mad dogs.
